Nathan Hughes

Recovery Coach

I’ve been walking the path of recovery since 2008—learning, unlearning, falling down, and getting back up again with God’s help.

In those early years, I helped start multiple 12-step meetings and found deep meaning in mentoring others just beginning their sobriety journeys. I’ve remained sober not because I’ve mastered recovery, but because I’ve learned to lean on something greater than myself. That journey has shaped every part of who I am—my work, my relationships, and my faith.

I’m a Certified Professional Coach and Recovery Coach—but more than that, I’m someone who’s still learning how to live gently, honestly, and in step with grace.

My coaching blends the tools I’ve learned with the life I’ve lived. I offer a calm and compassionate space for those recovering from addiction, emotional exhaustion, chronic illness, or spiritual disconnection. Rather than fix or force, I walk with clients as they reconnect to their values, their story, and God’s presence in the middle of it all.

Beyond certifications, my real formation came through service: helping launch 12-step meetings and being present in the slow, sacred work of long-term recovery. My approach integrates emotional, physical, and spiritual care—not as boxes to check, but as parts of a whole person being gently restored.

I also work as a professional musician—a calling that’s helped me discover how to live creatively and sustainably in recovery. And at the core of it all is my family. I’ve been married since 2001 and am raising two children, learning daily how to live what I teach. I’ve co-authored a Christian discipleship program inspired by the 12 steps, and I continue to walk that path myself.

At Recovery Coach Nate, you won’t find pressure to perform. You’ll find a guide, a listener, and a fellow traveler—someone who knows what it’s like to want freedom, peace, and purpose, and who’s learning to receive them one day at a time.
